Saint Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower BY LITTLE DROPS OF WATER®
St. Therese of Lisieux is one of the best loved and most popular Saints of the Catholic Church. In her early life, she had a deep love for Jesus which lead her to become a nun. At the age of 15, she entered the Carmelite Monastery in Lisieux, France. During her time as a nun, she developed her "little way" of holiness and became an extraordinary example of love. She wrote down her spiritual experiences in a journal which was later published as her autobiography, "The Story of a Soul." Shortly before her death at the age of 24 in 1897, Therese promised that she would "let a shower of roses fall after her death" and would "spend her heaven in doing good on earth." She is usually shown holding a crucifix and roses - a sign of her intercession for us.
